Swervy red lite download12/11/2022 ![]() ![]() As of right now, even though I'm a huge Orbit, casual Dreamcatcher fan, and not even really a fan of Rocket Punch, RP's album Red Punch is the only February album so far to fully click with me. It also takes me a long time to appreciate certain albums - it can be months or even years before an album "clicks" for me - so who knows, I might end up loving the album with time. I think the album would be completely redeemed for me if 365 was shifted to the middle of the tracks and the last or next to last track was something really hard-hitting or epic (something like Egoist, for example).īut then, I'm primarily an album listener who very rarely listens to songs in isolation or in playlists with other artists, so my opinions are heavily influenced by my opinion of the album and not my opinion of the songs alone. ![]() After the one-two punch of the industrial-sounding # and the hype of So What, the rest seem almost like filler. I know that the other tracks (including Day & Night, yes I bought the physical limited edition) are mostly really good songs, but I only really enjoy them if I listen to them outside the context of the album. #, for me, is entirely too front-loaded on the aggression so that it feels like it completely runs out of energy after just two tracks. I think I prefer albums that either have a cohesive theme throughout (like X X did), or if they are the type to mix up genres (which is fine) they put a lot of thought into the track order of the mix so that it has its own flow of highs and lows in terms of energy. It certainly has some pretty good songs, but it seems a bit too "all over the place" for my tastes. Two weeks later, I'm still not quite sure what I think of the album. ![]()
